Anastasia State Park Kayak Tour

Anastasia State Park Kayak Tour: Come explore the coastal estuary from the St. Augustine Lighthouse Park.

Salt Run, with it's close proximity to the St. Augustine Inlet, has an abundance of marine life including the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin. Blue Heron, White and Glossy Ibis, Roseate Spoonbills, Wood Storks and many other birds fly a short distance to Salt Run from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, which has the largest rookery in North Florida.  This serene coastal lagoon is sheltered from the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean only by the majestic white quartz sand dunes.  Enjoy only the sounds of the waves and birds just outside of historic downtown St. Augustine.  Take a step back almost 500 years and enter the Oldest City via the original natural inlet.  On the sunset tours we then watch the sunset over the historic St. Augustine Lighthouse! Reservations required. Cost is $45 per person.

Directions to the St. Augustine Lighthouse Park

All tours for Anastasia State Park will launch from the St. Augustine Lighthouse Park, just across the street from the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The St. Augustine Lighthouse Park address is 442 Ocean Vista Ave, Saint Augustine, FL 32080. Coming over the Bridge of Lions from downtown St. Augustine, follow Anastasia Blvd. and turn left on Red Cox Dr. just across the street from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. There is a little sign that says Lighthouse Museum. Then turn right at the Lighthouse and you will see us waiting for you on the beach in between the boat ramp and fishing pier. Please do not park in the lot for the Yacht Club. There is ample parking at the park. Please be at the launch point 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time.

I didn't realize the natural beauty just out side of St. Augustine. Your info of the estuary ecology really made us understand and enjoy the abundance of wildlife! Also, the proper kayak instruction and great equipment made us much more comfortable than most of the kayak tours we have been on! We'll see you again next year for sure! smilies/grin.gif

Thank you for a wonderful experience. I can't remember two hours ever going by so quickly! The amazing thing is that the sense of calm actually stayed with me for many hours after we were back on land. That must be the Ripple Effect! Chris was an outstanding instructor/guide and a veritable fountain of interesting Florida and area history and ecology. Whether you're a Floridian or a visitor, I highly recommend Ripple Effect ecotours for a real Florida experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. Thank you!

Fantastic sunset tour. Our guide paid attention to the weather and kept us updated to make sure we'd have a good experience. He was also very knowledgeable about the history and ecology of the area. One of the best kayak tours I have done.

We just got back from Anastasia state park tour. We had a great time. Chris was extremely knowledgeable and made it a very fun tour. I enjoyed the history behind all the land and his knowledge and understanding of the ecosystem. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a leisurely activity in beautiful weather with a little fun history mixed it. We are going to try the Guana River tour next!!

The natural beauty was awesome. But what I learned about the ecosystem of an estuary was invaluable. I now apreciate all the invisible creatures that give us oxygen. Thanks also for the tow! My body can't keep up with my mind these days. A greaat experience. Byron

This was one of the most unique experiences! The guides were great-- informative and funny. Nothing can describe the beautiful sunset and the full moon views. We took a group of 5, and will definitely do this again.

The Anastasia Island paddle with Chris Kelley was a great experience...Chris has contagious enthusiasm for the environment and the sport, and he's a "paddling" encyclopedia about the local wildlife! The double kayak with a pedal-control rudder made paddling a breeze; I'll be signing up for more tours soon!
